We’re excited to celebrate Kirby Toon, BBA ’13, for being featured in the Wisconsin School of Business’ 2026 “8 to Watch” list, which highlights alumni making a meaningful impact in their careers and communities.
Kirby currently serves as Director of Capital Strategy at Forward Community Investments, a Madison-based nonprofit focused on expanding access to financial services for communities across Wisconsin that are too often overlooked. In the feature, Kirby is recognized for her work driving capital strategy and marketing efforts, including helping secure funding for community-centered projects such as The Black Business Hub and McKenzie Regional Workforce Center.
A former UW–Madison volleyball player, Kirby credits her Wisconsin School of Business experience with helping her translate leadership, discipline, and teamwork from athletics into a career rooted in strategy and impact. Her story is a powerful reminder of what it looks like to combine business skills with a commitment to community.
Congratulations to Kirby on this well-deserved recognition.
