Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers Open Mental Health Support Center Thanks to FCI’s New Markets Tax Credit Investment
FCI staff recently had the opportunity to visit and receive a tour from our partner Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers (SSCHC). The office building was previously bland and unwelcoming, but thanks to a thoughtful redesign and rehabilitation, it has since been transformed into a welcoming space providing mental health support services in Milwaukee’s Clarke Square neighborhood.

Paying it Forward – Grant Giving Updates
Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant Fund Submission Begins October 11th
Calling all small Wisconsin Nonprofits! Could your organization use a $2,500 boost? Then this news is for you. FCI will be offering grants of $2,500 to 20 eligible nonprofit organizations to support their capacity-building activities. We are committed to providing these funds to those who need them in the most expedited way possible, so our application process is intended to take less than 15 minutes to complete. The submission period opens on Monday, October 11th with a deadline of Friday, October 22nd at midnight. Awardees will be announced during the week of October 25th. Pressing Forward – FCI Partners in the News
We partnered with Milwaukee Urban Stables through the use of our New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) investment to provide financing for the construction of a new facility to house a co-located mounted patrol and equine-assisted therapy and community engagement program. More information about this groundbreaking project can be found here.
FCI partnered with The Hmong American Women’s Association (HAWA) to provide financing to acquire a new headquarters and programming space. The building is of historical significance as it was once the home of Gustav Pabst. This acquisition was 25 years in the making and we are thrilled to be part of this project.
