Eligibility
We lend money to any Wisconsin 501(c)3 organization, faith based organization, cooperative or community development organization that is providing services for low- and moderate-income individiuals and families.
Eligibility Criteria
Our loans support essential social change in communities and are usually provided to smaller to mid-sized nonprofits.
Eligible Borrowers
- Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations
- For-profit subsidiaries of nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations
- Joint ventures between nonprofit organizations and for-profit ventures
- Housing and business cooperatives
- Faith-based organizations involved in community and economic development
- Community development corporations
- Public housing authorities
- Tribal nations
- Social-mission businesses
Ineligible Borrowers
Ineligible borrowers include individuals and churches or places of worship (although we would fund a church-owned and/or operated daycare center or other community-service initiative if the project met our eligibility criteria).
Eligible Projects
We give equal consideration to new initiatives and established projects. Eligible projects include:
- Land acquisition
- New construction, acquisition and rehabilitation of housing and/or nonprofit facilities
- Projects assisting low- to moderate-income individuals, minorities, female-headed households, people with disabilities, the homeless and/or the elderly
- Equipment or vehicle purchases
- Working capital and lines of credit
- Refinance of an existing loan if it can be proven that the refinance will result in savings to the applicant/project
- Economic development projects (i.e. projects that retain and/or create local living-wage jobs)
- Socially-responsible initiatives
